Search Building Handover Documents

At practical completion, a typical commercial building handover includes O&M manuals for every piece of installed equipment, as-built drawings, test and commissioning certificates, health and safety files, warranty documentation, and building user guides. For a medium-sized office building, this can easily run to tens of thousands of pages.

This documentation is the foundation of everything the FM team needs to operate the building. Yet it is often delivered in formats that make it difficult to use: multiple USB drives, inconsistent folder structures, varying file naming conventions, and a mix of native PDFs and scanned documents.

The result is that FM teams inherit a documentation package they cannot effectively search. Critical information about equipment specifications, maintenance requirements, and system configurations is locked inside documents that nobody can find efficiently.

In the weeks and months following practical completion, FM teams have a high volume of questions about the building they have just taken on. These range from basic equipment information to specific technical details that can only be found in the O&M documentation.
